Abortion clinic Newcastle
Marie Stopes Australia’s abortion clinic in Newcastle provides caring and non-judgemental abortion services and sexual and reproductive healthcare to over a thousand women and men each year.
Marie Stopes Australia’s Newcastle clinic staff are passionate and caring clinicians that provide the highest quality of care to women. We support women in their choice to either terminate their pregnancy or continue with it. We offer a full-range of services that complement abortion, such as post-abortion contraception, decision-based counselling and 24/7 aftercare. Our patients’ needs are our main priority and we value patient feedback, partnering with them to constantly improve our quality of care.
We’re always looking to improve and monitor our performance and provide high quality healthcare through a variety of safety measures, including clinical supervision and regular clinical audits.
Newcastle women can access our abortion services without GP referral and can choose either medical or surgical abortion.
Our Newcastle abortion clinic provides both surgical abortion and medical abortion along with decision-based counselling and 24/7 aftercare. We also offer post-abortion contraception. If you don’t think you can access our clinic, you may be eligible for a tele-abortion which is a medical termination via the telephone.

If you’d like to make an enquiry or book in an appointment you can call our national support centre or enquire online. Our hours (AEDT) are Monday to Thursday from 7am – 7pm, Friday from 7am – 6pm and Saturday from 9am – 5pm. If these hours don’t suit you, please call us and leave a message with your contact details and one of our support centre staff will get back to you as soon as possible.
When you call you can also choose to have a contraceptive method inserted on the day of your procedure.
