You are more than welcome to your partner, a friend or family member with you on the day to provide extra support. We simply ask that no babies or children attend as this can be distressing to some. Quality assured We are a government registered abortion service provider. We are the only provider in Australia that is independently assessed by the National Medical Advisory Committee (NMAC) to ensure quality clinical processes, protocols; and procedures. NMAC also review our doctors’ performance. Our Southport, Gold Coast clinic is ISO certified. Cost If you have a Medicare card, some of the cost will be covered by Medicare. There is however an out of pocket cost as with most other private medical treatments or day surgery procedures. The cost varies according to a number of factors including the clinic you attend; how far along you are in the pregnancy; the type of abortion procedure you choose; and whether you have private health insurance. If you have private health insurance, then you may be covered to an extent under your policy. You should contact your insurer directly for information.
