Marie Stopes in Mongolia is a highly successful social business which provides family planning and sexual and reproductive health services through two clinic facilities both located in the capital, Ullan Baataar.  The team in Mongolia provides training and services to public and private health service providers and direct distribution of contraceptives to pharmacies in Ullan Baataar, Darkhan and Erdenet cities and to medical providers and pharmacists in the provinces of Mongolia.  This strengthens local health systems, providing access where before it may have been limited, reaching even more women.

Marie Stopes in Mongolia also works in partnership with International Planned Parenthood Federation through the Safe Abortion Fund Project.  Since 2009 the team has been introducing safe medical abortion services outside of the Marie Stopes clinics.  Medical abortion is a non-surgical method which is safe, effective and less invasive.  By educating Mongolian women about the availability of medical abortion within and outside of the Marie Stopes facilities, access to safe medical abortion services has been expanded and quality of care has been greatly improved.
