In 2010 our global country programs provided sexual and reproductive healthcare services and education some seven million people 40 countries around the world. Our sexual and reproductive services include: family planning, safe abortion and abortion aftercare, maternal and child healthcare including antenatal care and safe delivery, diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections, and HIV prevention. We are dramatically expanding health service delivery for low-income women and couples. This expansion involves adding clinics and rural outreach programs in new countries and new regions of existing countries; creating social franchising networks to further expand access; and the wide distribution of high-quality, affordably-priced contraceptives with an emphasis on long-term methods such as implants and intra uterine devices (IUDs). Last year we provided over 1,661,700 couples with a year’s worth of contraceptive protection. Our work in 2010 will have the estimated impact of averting:
