how we help |
|
Marie Stopes is a global partnership of over 40 country partner programs providing life-saving sexual and reproductive health services to women and men all around the world. We help by serving the underserved. Many of the communities that we work with are ‘out of reach’ of health services and it is these communities that have the most need and experience the most barriers to accessing them. These barriers can be: lack of physical access due to living in isolated areas, poverty and not being able to afford healthcare, displacement due to conflict or natural disasters and lack of education especially in young people. We serve the underserved all around the world by providing family planning and contraceptives, safe motherhood, safe abortion and outreach services with a focus on impacting on the Millennium Development Goals and helping communities adapt to climate change. Here in Australia we provide support to eight country partner programs in China, Mongolia, Myanmar, the Pacific, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Timor-Leste and with Indigenous communities around Australia.
