Sex Appeal

It is difficult not to be moved by the tragic magnitude of the problem of HIV, maternal and infant deaths, and the cycle of poverty which is continued through lack of family planning within low-income communities.

Addressing this issue, Marie Stopes International Australia established the Marie Stopes Sex Appeal – aimed to raise funds to promote sexual and reproductive health services in under-developed countries of the Pacific Asia region.

Over the last 4 years, the Marie Stopes Sex Appeal has continued to grow through a variety of fundraising activities such as the ‘Start the Day – Hot to Trot Women’s Fun Run’ in 2006 and more recently, through the launch of Vixen Condoms in 2007.

Vixen Condoms are the first condom to be create for women, by women, and are presented in a beautifully illustrated purse-sized tin.

Most importantly, $1 from every pack of Vixen sold goes back to the Marie Stopes Sex Appeal. For more information on Vixen go to www.vixencondoms.com.

Vixen Condoms can be purchased from a variety of retail outlets in Australia and New Zealand, such as Kmart, Brazilian Butterfly and online at D.Vice Adult Stores. For a full range of stockist click here.

How are Sex Appeal funds spent?

Funds raised for The Marie Stopes Sex Appeal go toward our work in our international programs. For all funds raised, 10 cents in every $1 covers administration and project support costs. We are pleased to report that in 2007, 93.6% of funds raised were spent directly on projects. You can read our financial statements in our latest Annual Report.
