Events with a special cause at Marie Stopes International Australia, are events with Sex Appeal!
Below are some of the events that have raised money for our Marie Stopes Sex Appeal.
MAD Woman: Connecting our Community and Sex and the City film night May – June 2008
One of our corporate partnerships is with MAD Woman, a Melbourne based networking and consulting business. As part of their corporate social responsibility programme, they organised two film evenings (Sydney and Melbourne) in June 2008, using the launch of the “Sex in the City” movie to involve film goers to have discussions about MSIA. These two nights raised $5,500 and involved 300 participants.
WIMBN Seminar Series 2006
Women in Mortgage Business Network (WIMBN) gave MSIA a great boost by connecting us with women in the finance industry.
Hot to Trot Women’s Fun Run Oct 2006
This event was a fun run with a difference. MSIA asked women to bring a friend and run/walk 5km or 10km around Albert Park Lake in their pyjamas. All proceeds raised were donated to The Marie Stopes Sex Appeal – Timor-Leste programme. The event raised over $11,800 in donations.
IWDA Women’s Fair (Melbourne) March 2006
MSIA was a stall holder at this event that targeted women of all ages and ethnicities. At our stall we sold brochures, annual reviews, newsletters, raising funds for the Marie Stopes Sex Appeal.
Start the Day Women’s Tri’ 2006 (Sydney)
MSIA was the charity of choice for donations from participants at this event. MSIA had a stall and gave out information on MSIA and sold ‘Sex Appeal wristbands.
WAG – Tri Women’s & Girl’s Triathlon Nov 2005 (Canberra)
MSIA was chosen as the preferred charity for this triathalon, and conducted a presentation after the race, over 100 women participated.
Start the Day Women’s Triathlon 2005 (Melb)
300 women participated in this beginner’s level triathlon event (St Kilda, Victoria) All proceeds from event registrations were donated to MSIA projects. A corporate partnership was also established with HealthBrands (formally Aussie Bodies) and we raised $10,000.
