About Us
Marie Stopes International Australia (MSIA) is an Australian not-for-profit, non-government organisation with tax deductable status.
We work with local partners and governments to provide vital sexual and reproductive health services in low-income communities in the Pacific Asia region and with Australia's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through MSIA's fully-owned charity, Marie Stopes Australia.
MSIA is a secular, non-political development agency and signatory to the ACFID Code of Conduct. We do not allow our funds to be used for party-political or evangelical purposes. We are committed to sustainable projects which achieve enduring change and so do not engage in welfare activities. We work wherever there is an unmet need for successful, innovative, sustainable and quality reproductive health initiatives. We do not discriminate on the grounds of race, culture, ethnicity, gender, age, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, political or religious persuasion.
Improving the reproductive health and quality of life of women and their families, and helping them to exercise their right to have Children by Choice, Not by Chance is at the core of our work. MSIA was established in Melbourne in 1998, and draws on nearly three decades of international development experience as part of the Marie Stopes International Global Partnership of over 40 country programs.
